Generally, if you walk down a boardwalk in Florida you’ll reach a serene beach. But in The Devil’s Millhopper State Park, Gainesville, Florida, you’ll reach a hidden miniature rainforest. It is a mini version of a wet tropical rainforest.

Sinkholes are pretty common in Florida but this one is special. This sinkhole covers about a hundred meters of strata rock and in about 120 feet deep. The particular boardwalk is made on the sides of the sinkhole. This allows you to go to the marshy pools situated below and also look at the greenery down there.

There is a unique canopy of trees casting shade over the whole boardwalk and the below. This allows the flora to flourish here and also provide shelter to the trekkers.

You need to pay just $4 per 8-seater vehicle to enjoy this beauty! If you want to walk or explore while bicycling then you only need to pay $2. So, it’s light on your purse as well!
You just have to go to 4732 Millhopper Rd., Gainesville, Florida, to reach the Devil’s Millhopper State Park. It stays open from Wednesday to Sunday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Don’t forget that Monday and Tuesday are off days!
